What is TiMEtoTeach?

TiMEtoTeach is an innovative, multi-faceted faculty development approach, supporting all involved in our students learning journey. The approach was developed by Dr Cait Dennis and Ms Nancy Davies, LIME.

Recognised for good practice, this educational initiative was shortlisted for a British Medical Journal Award (Education) 2019.

This project provides a transferrable model of faculty development as mentioned in a 12 tips paper in Medical Teacher .

The outreach strategy is described in an innovation report in Medical Teacher.

Tailored CPD for teams and individuals

CPD sessions can be designed according to needs of the team or individual. The TiMEtoTeach team can provide onsite, or online training, at a time that fits with the busy work schedule. This means that challenges such as work pressures and location can be met and a dispersed faculty can still engage with upskilling and updating on curricula developments.
If you would like the team to deliver tailored sessions, please contact the team

Promoting the education of our students

The TiMEtoTeach team run pop-up sessions in hospital and clinic foyers (or any busy thoroughfare) to chat to staff and patients about medical education.  By initiating a conversation, it is possible to raise awareness of teaching initiatives, such as use of smartphones for assessment, to promote educational approached and encourage a diverse community to get involved in medical education.
