One of the aspects of the new awards system is that the School of Medicine can now nominate worthy recipients because we have realised that many of you are too busy or too humble to nominate!  Nominations can also be submitted from colleagues.

Clinical Teaching Excellence Award 2024

Clinical Teaching Excellence Awards are given to teams or individuals who can show sustained excellence and exceptional scholarship in delivering teaching to our School of Medicine students.

Like last year, the application process for the Clinical Teaching Excellence awards was extremely competitive.  Applications were received from various placement providers including GP surgeries, hospital departments and undergraduate medical education teams. Enthusiasm for and dedication to clinical education shone from every application.  The panel was delighted to note that many of our educators are sharing their increased knowledge and experience with colleagues locally, nationally and even globally!

This year, one of the judging focuses was on how teams and educators nurture a sense of belonging for students whilst they are on placement.

The 2023-24 winners of the Clinical Teaching Excellence Team Award were:

Ophthalmology Team, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust
